Sila, global industry experts in advanced silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, has secured $300 million in private equity funding to accelerate U.S. production of its Titan Silicon® technology and support the planned Phase 2 expansion of its Moses Lake, Washington, manufacturing facility. The round was led by Atreides Management and Sutter Hill Ventures, with participation from 8VC, Bessemer Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and other existing and new investors.
This investment comes as U.S. manufacturers work to reduce their dependence on foreign-controlled battery supply chains. China currently controls more than 90% of anode material processing and more than 80% of global battery cell production, creating significant exposure to trade restrictions, export controls and other supply disruptions. Sila’s Titan Silicon® technology delivers 20% to 40% higher energy density than traditional graphite anodes, enabling batteries that are smaller, lighter and capable of ultra-fast charging. The funding will support the continued ramp-up of Sila’s domestic silicon-carbon anode production for critical applications including electric vehicles, electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, satellites and defense technologies.

“This funding allows us to further scale our operations and deliver on the promise of American innovation, strengthen the foundation of our domestic manufacturing capabilities and ensure that critical industries have a secure and reliable supply of advanced batteries,” said Gene Berdichevsky, Sila Co-Founder and CEO.
Sila completed construction and began operations at its Moses Lake facility in fall 2025 and is now ramping production. Located on a 160-acre site, the first-of-its-kind silicon anode plant was engineered for gigascale manufacturing and future expansion. The facility currently has 2 GWh of Phase 1 capacity and is designed to scale to as much as 250 GWh over the next five years. At full expansion, it would become the largest anode production facility in the world.
The planned Phase 2 expansion will position Sila to serve growing demand across space, defense, artificial intelligence, electronics and electric vehicle applications. The company also expects the Moses Lake facility to create hundreds of jobs as production increases.
