PTC, global industry experts in product lifecycle management, industrial software, and digital engineering, announced that HOLON, a subsidiary of the BENTELER Group, is using its Windchill+ cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) platform to support development of an autonomous Level-4 electric vehicle designed to meet automotive industry standards.
HOLON is developing HOLON urban, an autonomous electric vehicle designed for emission-free public transportation. The vehicle is designed to provide fully barrier-free access and accommodate up to 15 passengers, supporting scheduled routes, on-demand services, ride-pooling, and goods transport. To support scalable production, HOLON has introduced a flexible manufacturing concept that allows multiple vehicle variants to be produced on a single assembly line.

To support vehicle development and industrialization, HOLON implemented Windchill+ within six months, establishing a fully digital product development environment. The cloud-based PLM platform replaces manual, paper-based workflows, enabling real-time access to product data and improving collaboration across engineering teams and future manufacturing sites in Germany and the United States.
By consolidating product data in a cloud-native PLM environment, HOLON aims to accelerate development timelines, improve productivity, and manage the complexity of autonomous electric vehicle programs. The digital foundation supports the transition from design to production while aligning with the company’s objective of bringing the HOLON urban vehicle to market within a five-year development timeline.
