Green Energy Origin (GEO), an industry expert in battery electrolyte manufacturing and advanced battery materials, has announced the acquisition of electrolyte manufacturing facilities in the United States and the United Kingdom to expand regional supply capacity for electric vehicle and energy storage applications.
The facilities were acquired from subsidiaries of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation as part of GEO’s strategy to strengthen supply chain resilience across key battery manufacturing regions. The transaction extends the company’s manufacturing presence into North America and Western Europe, complementing its existing electrolyte production operations in Central Europe.

The acquisition follows the commissioning of GEO’s 200,000-ton-per-year electrolyte manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic. It is intended to provide additional production capacity, geographic redundancy, and regional supply flexibility as demand for electrolytes continues to increase alongside global EV and energy storage deployment.
In the United States, the acquired facility in Memphis, Tennessee, positions GEO closer to battery manufacturing hubs in the Midwest, enabling shorter supply routes and accelerating the company’s commercial presence in the U.S. market. In the United Kingdom, the Billingham facility provides localized electrolyte manufacturing capability in Western Europe, supporting rapid delivery timelines for regional customers.
According to GEO, the expanded manufacturing footprint also supports closer collaboration with strategic customers through regionally integrated supply chains for electrolyte materials. The company noted that the transaction further strengthens its global research, development, and patent collaboration activities in next-generation battery technologies.
“By acquiring MCC’s manufacturing facilities, GEO will further enhance its ability to deliver rapid and reliable supply across North America and Europe,” said Tony Ma, CEO of GEO. “Additionally, GEO will deepen its partnerships with strategic customers by developing regionally integrated supply chains for electrolyte raw materials and remain committed to delivering the best products and services to our customers while contributing to a low-carbon future.”
