ePropelled, a manufacturer of advanced propulsion and energy management technologies, has expanded its USA-made Hercules series to meet growing global demand for hybrid-ready power solutions. These systems are designed to enhance the capabilities of uncrewed vehicles across land, air, and marine applications, extending their range and improving mission agility.
Expanding Hybrid Propulsion for Uncrewed Systems
Hybrid propulsion systems, which integrate electric motors and internal combustion engines, are transforming uncrewed vehicles by enabling greater operational flexibility. This approach enhances mission performance in military drones and other uncrewed systems, with benefits such as reduced acoustic signatures, lower heat emissions, and increased efficiency.
“The dual benefits of reducing logistical burdens and increasing mission tempo make electric drones and hybrid propulsion a game-changer in modern warfare,” said Ewen Stockbridge, CEO of 360iSR and a NATO trainer. “This shift improves efficiency and operational flexibility, allowing for rapid recharging and redeployment.”
Technical Excellence with the Hercules Series
The Hercules series includes five starter generators, four intelligent power systems, and an electronic engine starter motor controller for hybrid power conversion. Capable of producing power from 500W to 12kW, these rugged and lightweight systems are designed for high-temperature environments.
Unique to ePropelled, the Hercules systems feature ePConnected™, a real-time performance monitoring platform that utilizes standard CAN 2.0 interfaces. This technology tracks critical parameters such as temperature, voltage, current, and power output, enabling users to optimize performance through analytics and create custom alerts for specific mission profiles.
Made in the USA
Complying with U.S. trade regulations, including the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the Hercules line is manufactured domestically, addressing rapidly shifting trade and procurement requirements.
“Our Hercules line of power generation products empowers drones to achieve mission ranges of over 1,000 km,” said Nick Grewal, CEO of ePropelled. “These products lead the uncrewed systems market in power-to-weight ratio, performance, and advanced control through ePConnected™ protocols.”
