Dukosi, global industry experts in battery monitoring and contactless communications technologies, has introduced a contactless intra battery communications platform designed to upgrade conventional modular battery management architectures without requiring fundamental changes to underlying battery design. The DK-NFLNK™ platform connects traditional multi-channel analog front ends (AFEs) with the battery management system host through Dukosi’s near-field communications architecture. The system combines the DK8503 Node chip, DK8203 System Hub, Dukosi software API and its proprietary C-SynQ® based communications protocol. The DK8503 interfaces directly with the AFE through SPI, while module data is transferred to and from the BMS host through the DK8203 System Hub using a single bus antenna.
By replacing wiring harnesses and physical connectors between battery modules and the BMS host, the architecture is intended to reduce common mechanical failure points while retaining synchronous module level measurements and deterministic communications. Dukosi uses a star network in which the System Hub communicates independently with each Node and synchronizes data transfer across the network. Near field operation also limits RF power and is intended to simplify integration compared with conventional far field wireless approaches.

Dukosi’s DK-NFLNK™ Contactless Communication Solution connects traditional multi-channel battery monitoring AFEs with the BMS host through a near-field communications network, replacing conventional module wiring and connectors while preserving existing modular battery architectures.
A key distinction is the platform’s AFE agnostic design. Battery developers can retain existing multi-channel AFE based module architectures while replacing the communications link between those modules and the central BMS processor. The same BMS host processor and DK8203 System Hub can also be reused across multiple battery pack designs, while a common software library and API support different configurations. This provides a migration path for manufacturers that may have already invested in modular battery platforms yet seek greater flexibility to move away from conventional wired interconnects.
“Dukosi’s unique smart cell monitoring solutions and proprietary C-SynQ communication protocol has gained significant market adoption, and we continue to find new problems that our technology can solve for our customers. DK-NFLNK and the Dukosi Cell Monitoring System (DKCMS®) share a common communication foundation, C-SynQ, giving battery designers an easy migration path to full DKCMS-enabled Smart Cell battery designs. As such, we have been able to effectively move DK-NFLNK from the proof-of-concept debuted in March towards product availability, with samples for key customers and new DK-NFLNK Evaluation Kits (EVKs) available now. We’re providing customers a cost-efficient upgrade path for modular designs to full DKCMS-enabled Smart Cell batteries in future,” said Joseph Notaro, President at Dukosi.
DK-NFLNK also provides an intermediate architecture between conventional modular battery designs and Dukosi’s broader DKCMS smart cell platform. Both systems use the C-SynQ communications foundation, allowing developers to introduce contactless module level communications while preserving a future path toward cell level monitoring architectures. Dukosi positions DK-NFLNK for battery developers that want to retain existing multi-channel AFE designs while reducing redesign time and labor.
The DK8503 and DK8203 are AEC-Q100 certified and designed to support ASIL C compliant systems. Typical applications for the platform include electric vehicles, industrial and marine battery systems, robotics, battery energy storage systems, telecommunications infrastructure and AI data centers. Evaluation kits are now available for customer sampling and initial proof of concept development across a growing range of BMS host processors and AFE devices. The DK-NFLNK Evaluation Kit includes a Node board, System Hub unit, optional resistor divider board, bus antenna and supporting cables, together with a Windows based graphical interface and software and PCB design documentation. The platform has progressed from the proof-of-concept Dukosi first demonstrated in March 2026 to customer sampling and development availability.
